Meet the Trainers
Ben Naismith (Cambridge Delta Program)
Ben is originally from Vancouver Island, Canada (although you might not believe it from his accent). Since 2002, he has been working in the field of English Language Teaching as a teacher, teacher trainer, and manager in a number of places including Thailand, Toronto, Costa Rica, Dubai and now Vancouver. Currently Ben is the Head of Teacher Training at IH Vancouver. He holds an MSc in Applied Linguistics through Aston University and completed his DELTA in 2009 – the best professional decision he ever made. Outside of language teaching, Ben loves spending time with his family, playing music, and a number of other geeky pursuits.
Tillat Khalid (Cambridge Delta Program)
Tillat has lived and worked in so many countries that she can’t quite remember where she comes from (although she does recall having a Welsh mum and a Pakistani dad). She has taught ESL for over thirty-five years, and has been a teacher trainer for twenty years, helping to set up and manage many CELTA and DELTA centres in different parts of the world including Kuwait, Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto. She holds an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from the University of Leicester and did her Delta (then known as DTEFLA) many years ago. She is currently a free-lance trainer, and does a lot of travelling to exotic countries like Brazil, Korea, Mexico and Vietnam in order to work on teacher training programs. Her most recent passion is her two grandchildren, aged two and nine months respectively.
